About to Hatch (29 weeks)

My wonderful cousins, Kari and Corinne hosted Braden's first baby shower on May 1, at Grandma Kathy's house.  It was fabulous.  We had lots of fun, great food, conversation, and company!

Here are Jenny's cousins: Kelly, Kari, Corinne, Jenny and Auntie Amy!

The Theme was "About to Hatch".  It was super cute...with all of the blue, green and brown...and all of the birds and nests!

Here was the cute set up!

Go Peeps go!

The chocolate nests with almond and M&M eggs were divine!

Everything was so spring like!

The living room was "decked" out as well.

 What a cute diaper cake!

The Mommy to be!

Auntie Amy, Aunt Mary and Cousin Kelly.  We played a couple of games...one was a quiz about how Jenny would respond to different baby questions.  I think Amy ended up winning...

Auntie Betsy, Grannie Annie, Patsy and Birgit concentrating hard on the Ultrasound game.  We had to identify baby "parts" on an ultrasound! It was tricky, but a very fun idea!  Grannie Annie also won the "Don't say the word Baby" game.

All of the cute wrapping and gifts!

Ooh--our high chair!

What a fun washcloth puppet!

Our baby will know his colors...some fun crayola washcloths!

Grandma Kathy, Jenny and "Great" Grandma Ruth. It was so nice that Grandma could make it!

Here are the pregnant cousins.  Jenny at 29 weeks, Kari a month before! I think I caught up to her bump size!

Thanks for such a fun shower Kari and Corinne! It was a ton of fun!

Crib Set Up & 27 weeks!

Grandma Kathy came over one night of Jenny's spring break, and helped put the crib together.   Our crib is from Target....love it! So did Muggles.  She was very interested in seeing every part of putting the crib together.  Earlier in the week, Auntie Amy came over and helped Jenny paint 2 of the walls of the nursery a light blue color.   More pics of the nursery are to come.  Jenny has to finish coat number 2 of the rocket ship/moon decor on the wall!

Seriously, within 30 seconds of putting the mattress in the crib, Mugs jumped right in and hand to check it out.  She has jumped in a few times, but I think, hopefully, she has lost a little bit of interest since then.
We'll be closing the door when Braden is sleeping in it!

We love our sweet kitty, and hope she adjusts alright to a new little cutie in the house.  She didn't do to well with another kitty friend.  It will take a little time, that's for sure.  She has had one favorite spot during Jenny's pregnancy, that is on Jenny's lap.  Everytime I sit on the couch, she hops up, curls up, and falls asleep.  When the sun finally came out and the temp. got warmer, we opened up the door and gave her the lovely view and fresh air of outside.  That was until Jenny started having allergy symptoms again.  Chris and Muggles would much rather prefer to have the windows and doors open with this great spring weather.  Jenny had a sinus infection that wiped her out for a couple of weeks, and started to feel better, when allergy season kicked in.  But with the pollen counts extremely high, Jenny put her foot down and opted for closed doors and the ac instead.  Thankfully, the tree pollen count has started to go down.
Here is more of Muggles enjoying the great outdoors!
Baby Bump at 27 weeks! As some of the teachers and kids say at school....Mrs. Popp has "popped"!

25 Weeks

Last week, I got together with my wonderful cousins, Kari and Corinne.  Kari was in town visiting some of her college friends.  Here are Kari and I in front of Corinne's place.  We enjoyed a day of shopping and eating along Grand Avenue.  Kari is a few weeks ahead of me, and is due in June.  She is having a little girl, so now she and Dennis will have both a boy and a girl.

Here we are showing off our baby bumps! It will be so fun to have some little ones so close in age with each other.  It will definitely be a busy Christmas celebrating on that side of the family!

20 week Ultrasound

Here's our little boy! Braden's face:)
We had our 20 week ultrasound about 4 weeks ago.  I forgot to post the actual ultrasound pics.  We had this done, and yes, we wanted to find out if we are having a boy or girl.  We are having a boy (as you can see in a later ultrasound.  It's exciting to know we are having a boy, and exciting to be able to plan a little ahead of time.  We are so excited to meet him!

Yep, it's a boy!
Here's his little foot! I have been feeling a lot more of this lately! He has been kicking and moving around lots and lots.  It's super fun!

Cat in the Ceiling!

So,  on one of my days home sick this past week, I hear Muggles just meowing and meowing away.  She usually does this before she explores something.  Then I hear this weird noise, then nothing.  About 20 minutes later, I go to inspect downstairs, since I hadn't seen her in a while.  Well, We have been redoing some things in our bathroom downstairs.  Chris had taken down part of the drywall in the ceiling, and hadn't replaced it yet.  I go in the bathroom, and I hear these strange little paw noises coming from the ceiling--the part where the drywall had been replaced! Muggles somehow jumped from the window to the top of the shower door and into the finished drywall area.  It took a little bit for her to get down, but eventually, I grabbed her.  Needless to say, Chris will now be finishing the bathroom! :)  What a fun and strange cat.

I must say, that I have always loved our kitty, but she has been a sweetheart this past week while I have been home sick.  I have not been feeling the best and have been out with a sinus infection the past week and a half from school.  Mugs just follows me everywhere I go.  I have been sleeping downstairs on our guest bed, and she follows me...last night, as I was sleeping on my side, she crawls up behind me, sprawls her head and paws over my growing baby bump, curls up and falls asleep.   I sprawl on the couch, she is on my lap in 2 seconds.  Chris seems to think she knows that I am pregnant...either that, or she knows that I am not feeling the best.  Anyway, my main concern is just getting better so that Braden isn't too affected by everything.  I at least am on some antibiotics now, which should help.  I hate taking anything else for fear of it crossing over to him.  But, I know I need to just get better.  The BEST thing that I have used is the neti pot! I will never go back! Cross your fingers that we are turning a corner!

Law School "PROM" (Barrister's Ball)

Saturday was a busy day for us! We had Chris' Holiday Party celebration with his work.  We headed to see Mama Mia at the Orpheum, and then dinner at Axel's in Roseville. They have THE best mashed potatoes in the world, by the way.

Then  we headed to the Barrister's Ball, or the Law School prom! It was a fun time!

Here are some of the people from Chris' intramural volleyball team.

And, Braden definitely was feeling the music.  He was poking me all night! I was ready to put my feet up at the end of the night, but it was a great time!

Here I am at 22 weeks! I am loving that my morning sickness seems to have subsided.  And, I love even more feeling Braden poking me every once in a while.  It's so fun! I can't wait for Chris to be able to feel it too!
After being gone all day, Muggles loved that we were finally home....she does this random flop thing and puts her paws on our heads when she is happy to see us.  Also....gives us the fun headbutt!

It's a Boy!

February 26, we went for our 20 week appointment, and found out...we are having a Boy!
We celebrated the news, and Jenny's bit 32 by spending the weekend up in Duluth.  On the way up, we did a little boy shopping spree and found lots of cute things.  Here is baby bump at 20 weeks. Then, I was feeling just a couple of little nudges.

We stayed at Beacon Pointe Resort, right on Lake Superior, a few miles north of Canal Park.  The weather was beautiful! It definitely had turned a corner at this point! You can see Canal Park in the background of this pic:

The view from our room..it was cool, because at night the ice would drift in from the Lake.  In the morning, it would drift back out.  You could hear the small islands of ice cracking and creaking against eachother.

We spent Saturday strolling and shopping in Canal Park, ate some good food, including chocolate from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  We also relaxed by watching the Olympics, and just spending some good time together.

Hopefully our little guy will get our good looks and strange senses of humor :)

Just before we left, we saw a huge group of loons swimming by our room on the Lake. We had never seen so many together before!

Every time Jay Leno has animals on his show, Muggles gets super interested.  On the left, it is hard to see, but she is staring away at the leopard on the screen.  She also loved the baby Tiger! Too funny! Maybe we should have her watch Animal Planet or something.
