Rabbit Jam

Ok, so if I were to actually catch the rabbits....maybe we would really have rabbit stew or something...but probably not. I am torn...they are so cute, but they love to eat my flowers....have I mentioned this before? Here, I caught them in the act of hunting for my begonias....little do they know they are no longer in their reach. This has been their quest of the summer, and the thorn in my side. Chris just thinks it's hilareous that I have had this war with rabbits all summer long. I think for now we are at a lull. YAY!
Here the begonias are, out of rabbits reach....not quite as beautiful as they have been in the past since the rabbits have eaten off the flowers on all of them 2 times. Yet, they are budding again.

I have now added marigolds and some other non-flowering plants to the mix of the big pot.
And the jam.....we have a multitude of raspberries in our backyard right now. I spent the better part of 2 hours picking just over a half-gallon of fresh berries yesterday. And, my mom and I made some raspberry freezer jam last night. It was actually pretty simple...and I'm looking forward to sampling some soon.
Look at that raspberry gooey loveliness!

We spent the 4th of July up near Siren, at the cabin of Amy's parents. We all had a fun time on and off the Above, mom, grandma and Kathy relax on the pontoon boat. Here is Josh on the wake board.

Amy drove us around. It was a beautiful day!
Here is Brian catching a wave.
Grandma and mom out on the pontoon boat.
Here's Jenny catching some air on the tube.
Dad and Denny hanging out on the dock during the Pontoon boat parade. Everyone on the lake decorated their boats for the 4th and paraded around. It was fun!

Chris getting ready to hit the water.
Chris and I rode his new motorcycle up to the cabin and back. Then, we hit up the Blaine fireworks for the evening show. It was fun.
